anyways, we got a new song, and working on another.
maybe i might actually edit that video we did ages ago. it's already so dated, we are all wearing hats and stuff, maybe i'll wait until it's season-appropriate!

in any case, summer has been such a whirlwind. i think i was losing myself/all motor functions from complete and utter freedom. i def not only explored but conquered some hedonistic rows.

i've been getting down with GOWNS and fever ray recently, you should check that out. GOWNS only has one album, so that shouldn't be hard, and the self-titled for fever ray RULES.

so the scummies played a show @ the eclectic wear in new london.
the space has many egyptian icons and a black and white checkered floor and is an (the only) all ages venue in new london. (other than basements of punks old and young).

but some really disrespectful actions were experienced, and we've decided to not play there anymore.

interesting things lately:
+ wow a sinkhole opened up in guatemala? i'm confused; when that happens it makes a perfect circle?

+ i also saw i sticky in this reference book i have, and it said "that in the earth, but not of it." i thought about this for a while.

...i had a nice blossoming list of things to discuss, but i had a visitor and now i'm super stone drone drinking irish pale all and listening to some mood groove.

in closing, rapture scum is playing a show at the whitney house in hartford on south whitney st. (the only punk house on the street) w/ white suns, glue machine and colorguard. donation in a sweet zone on july 9th 7/8ish? will post flyer.

the show @ university of new haven on this saturday is cancelled.

the girl setting up the show felt totally overwhelmed and that the whole thing was crumbling. whatevs.

we are (tentatively) playing on May 13th @ the eclectic wear in new london with some band that sounds like fugazi.

so that sounds radical. (i first typed radial, and considered if i could get away with leaving it.)

the rain is returning. BUM TRIP. but let's get through it, ok?

hello comrades! mao-style paragraph starter there!

so the show at the wrench in the works collective TOTALLY.RULED last night.
the space is a huge warehouse space, which has a tiny, warmly lit book-lined room for the bands to play in.
low lighting +books+warehouses + music =a recipe for some total radical(ists) times.

bloody swimsuit totally caught my eye ; lo-fi modern punk-new wave trio that had some killer grooves.

and despite all of rapture scums mishaps (RIP guitar input), everyone had a heart of community and helped us pull through, even lending a guitar! nervewracking, but at the same time total human redemption in action!

wish we had some sort of video-log, but michael's camera is possessed by this battery demon and we haven't been able to perform an exorcism on it yet. SOON. see photo above from jeffrey mccartthy who put us on this show. I AM STILL AN INVISIBLE MYSTERY.

look : rush limbaugh is a media monger who always loves to say outlandish things and then when people jump all over it's insensitivity or lack of accuracy or basis, he says what he MEANT to say and blames the "liberal media" for twisting his own words.

don't you see that he LOVES to fondle the media, and the media doesn't realize it's being duped?
don't you see that his completely unfounded theories and comments help to feed his exposure?

he is a master manipulator, and i am so sick of the media giving into it, showcasing it, even HIGHLIGHTING it.

but at the same time, he is such an easy target, it's almost like when covering these "stories", we aren't focusing on the reality at hand : that Haiti had a massively devasting earthquake, which in no way showcases their long, disturbing, turbulant history of struggle in leadership and in quality of life.

so in short : GET OVER WHAT RUSH SAID. it doesn't really matter. are you REALLY shocked at his accusations? Or that of his counterpart - pat robinson?

let's focus on a country that, at present, is in need of help and restablization. even though they have long needed help and restablization, it's beside the fact. focus on the current, not on previous matters, or what or who is catalyzing the controversy.

and don't worry - limbaugh's been a pill popping egomaniacal tyrant who, if he is to take his own edict to heart, is going to hell anyways.
